Capstones and Proof of Skill
Finishing a video is not the same as learning. Every depth requires work that can be inspected.
Proof of Skill

- · Risk Calculator
- · Market Report
- · Strategy Hypothesis
- · Research Memo
- · Backtest
- · Portfolio
- · Execution Analysis

Projects for the six phases
- Phase 1Trade Card: write a complete card for a real BTC or ETH trading idea.
- Phase 2Risk Calculator: input equity, stop, and win rate to calculate size, expectancy, and ruin risk.
- Phase 3Crypto Market Structure Report: choose a coin and document venues, depth, and leverage crowding.
- Phase 43 Strategy Hypotheses: each specifies mechanism, signal, suitable regime, and invalidation.
- Phase 5First complete Backtest Report: OOS testing, trading costs, and robustness analysis.
- Phase 6Foundation capstone: fully manage a $100,000 virtual portfolio.
Every submission must be inspectable: figures can be recalculated, conclusions can be challenged, and rules are written before events rather than afterwards.
Foundation capstone
Manage a $100,000 virtual portfolio from end to end. Follow the Foundation capstone handbook to complete rules, Trade Cards, daily/weekly/monthly reviews, nine-component attribution, and a scoring sheet. Every template can be copied.
- Specify portfolio risk budgets and controls: per-trade risk, daily loss limit, total exposure limit, and Kill Switch.
- Every trade has a Trade Card, written before its outcome.
- Complete at least one full daily, weekly, and monthly review cycle.
- Attribute profit and loss at month-end and explain where returns came from.
- Score decision quality separately from outcomes during review.
Institutional capstone
Follow the Institutional capstone handbook, including complete objects for five strategy categories, capital budgets, stress drills, nine-component attribution, quarterly review, and assessment criteria.
Manage a $1,000,000 multi-strategy portfolio with at least 5 strategies covering:
- Trend
- Carry
- Relative Value
- Flow
- Event
Each strategy needs a complete Strategy Object and an explicit lifecycle stage. At portfolio level, submit capital allocation methods, risk reports, stress tests, attribution, and quarterly reviews.
The 3D graduation scenario
At the Institutional Trading Desk, handle positions, orders, risk, portfolios, and execution in real time through a randomly generated sequence of crises. Assessment dimensions:
Decision QualityRisk ControlProcess DisciplineAttributionSurvivalThe final question is whether, under pressure, you still followed your advance rules and survived—not how much money you made.
What is assessed
| Dimension | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| Decision Quality | Whether the decision was reasonable when made, independent of its outcome |
| Risk Control | Whether any single mistake was fatal |
| Process Discipline | Whether you followed rules written in advance |
| Attribution | Whether you can explain the sources of gains and losses |
| Survival | Whether you survived to the end |
3D market simulations
V2 is not video content made three-dimensional. It is an Interactive Market Simulation that turns abstract market mechanisms into dynamic systems you can operate.
