Knowledge nodes
36 Canonical Knowledge Nodes. Foundation, Advanced, and 3D attach to the same nodes at different depths.
Why knowledge nodes exist
If each edition wrote its own explanation of the order book, the Foundation, Advanced, and 3D accounts would eventually disagree. Trader OS instead gives all knowledge one Canonical Knowledge Node; editions are different depths of that node.
For the order book, the concept_id is TRD-MICRO-001:
| Depth | Where | Question |
|---|---|---|
| Foundation | Chapter 13 | What happens in the order book when you click “market buy”? |
| Advanced | Execution and microstructure | How do queues, adverse selection, and market impact determine an order's true cost? |
| Institutional | The institutional depth of the same node | How should large orders be split and routed to minimize impact? |
| 3D | Trading hall · order book simulation | Place a market order from inside the order book and watch resting orders consumed level by level |
Learning records include node IDs and versions and can currently be saved explicitly on this device. Planned cross-edition integration would unlock the 3D order-book simulation after Foundation reading and add large-order impact after Advanced study. Automatic unlocking is not yet implemented. Reading and lab records do not automatically establish concept mastery.
What a node contains
concept_id, title, domain, and version- Prerequisites: what to read first
- Foundation chapter, Advanced question, and Institutional question
- 3D simulation, if any
- Applicable markets: general mechanisms apply to all market packs; perpetuals and liquidations belong specifically to Crypto
Each node has a version, such as v1.0. A change to its core definition increments the version. All three depths share this metadata to prevent long-term drift among editions.
